Kinesio Tape
If you have been watching any sports on TV lately, you would have seen an athlete using Kinesio Tape. Kinesio Tape is a waterproof, latex free, heat activated, full range of motion tape. It is designed to treat soft tissue injuries. The therapeutic benefit depends on the tension and line of stress applied to the tape by the practitioner. Kinesio Tape can treat anything from acute low back strains to carpal tunnel and tennis elbow. Best of all, unlike athletic tape, Kinesio Tape does not interfere with your range of motion, and it can be worn in water. Like most therapeutic modalities, you must look for a certified provider. Lucky for you, Dr. Matt at Tubbs Chiropractic has obtained certification and is proficient in all Kinesio Tape Methods.

Graston Technique ® (GT) is one of the newest and most exciting techniques in the treatment of soft tissue injuries. Six stainless steel instruments are used to break down scar tissue and fascial adhesion. When soft tissues, such as muscles, ligament, and tendons are injured or chronicly contracted, they heal or support themselves by creating scar tissue. Normal tissue has fibers that run in straight lines. Scars are a mix of fibers running in all directions. Fascia is a soft tissue that can be compared to plastic wrap. For muscles to contract and move, they must be seperated from each other. This is the job of fascia. When scar tissue from the muscles adheres to the fascia, there is pain and a decrease in the normal range of motion. This is where GT shines. The instruments break down the "bad" fibers and promote healthy repair. Ultimately, this decreases pain and increases range of motion. To find out if GT can help you, schedule an appointment today.Matthew M Tubbs, DC, KTCP
